Now that is a deep thought. No pun intended. But it is true: My special needs daughter’s main “language” is music. She listens to her favorites every morning while getting ready for work. She is open to all music; of course her favorite is popular hits, but she also listens to the “old” music I listen to from the 60s, 70s, etc. She has an interest in hymns and classical also. I believe music was given to help direct our soul—to focus, to rest, to heal. It creates a mood. I listened to “smooth jazz” when I was working. It calmed me during the stress! Music has power to take us to places in our past, and encourage us to go to new places for our future. Sound and music…..great gifts!
