Financial Peace University

Last Sunday was the completion of Lesson 3 in my FPU class! This is my first solo session as a Coordinator and I am loving every minute of it! To be a part of changing lives for the better provides a sense of fulfillment like no other. When you enjoy an activity you aren’t getting paid for, you know it’s meant to be! This is a new sensation for me!

Not everyone will finish the 9-week course (12 weeks when I took it!) because the road to financial freedom is hard and painful. It requires discipline and saying no to stuff, people, and even yourself when you really want to say yes. I’m dubbing “instant gratification” as the second silent killer (hypertension is first), of dreams!

What I had to remember is that saying no was only temporary, not permanent. The goal is to live like no one else today so you CAN live like no one else later!  As Dave Ramsey says, “Children do what FEELS good, adults DEVISE a plan and follow it”. If getting out of debt (and losing weight for that matter!) were easy, everyone would be doing. The REAL question is, how bad do you want it?
