Desire

Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, IT is a tree of life!

021

I was introduced to this mind-blowing message of hope, Proverbs 13:12, by the inspirational Dave Ramsey! I swam in the sea of suffocation for so many seasons that it was barely noticeable, doubt clinging to me like a second skin. My heart silently ached for the forgotten dreams that had gone stale from my younger years, stored in a part of my mind that had been off-limits for years.  Life had beat the hell out of me, becoming my master and had shown me who was boss. All hope was lost.

I didn’t even try to fight back, believing a life of chaos was the punishment I deserved for making foolish decisions. I remained a victim of circumstances until the pain of staying the same became more than the pain of change. Only then did a surge of desire erupt from deep within my soul, strong enough to elicit an intense call to action! That volcano of desire illuminated the gloomy path and guided my spirit directly to the tree of life at the end of the road! Desire introduced me to destiny, and we were a match made in heaven!

  1. This is uplifting. Sometimes life lets us walk down a path before taking us in the direction we are meant to go. I am glad your hope got restored.
