I’ve come to understand that what I’m capable of depends largely on my environment (also state of mind), and became intentional about how I spend my time. It was also encouraging to learn that we become more like those we spend the majority of our time with, which meant I didn’t need to know all the answers in order to get started. I simply needed to find others that were either already where I wanted to go, or headed in the same direction. The truth is that I am capable of more than I think possible when I focus more on my goals and less on what others think about them.
My experience has been that those not brave enough to go after their own dreams are really good at giving advice. As Dave Ramsey says, “Opinions are like armpits, everyone has them and some of them stink!”
I absolutely hate when people do that and I try to encourage not discourage.

We are on the same page! It helps me to look at the goals and accomplishments of the person making the comment. Often times neither are present.
